There is a new url shortening sevice that caused a bit of an outbreak over copyright materials late yesterday.

Shuurl was using WOT's API without the proper recognition which caused some debate in the WOT Forum and there are more details to be found at TechJaws who brought this issue to light.

The creator of Shuurl has now released the service as a beta version and now that the major issues have been resolved I am sure that the service will be of benefit to many users, adding more power toward making the internet a safer place.
