Guidelines For Solving PC Application Errors
Posted Under: Basic Computer Security,Free PC Security
Most computer owners regret the fact that error reporting for computers has been left behind in the great technology leap.
While many PC applications have made our work simple and easy, computer error messages from these very applications leave us confused and overwhelmed.
These error messages seem to be written by the programmers, as only other programmers can understand them.
This may be bad news for us, as it may require hiring so-called computer experts who charge expensive fees to solve our computer problems.
Computer users are spending way too much money on solving computer problems, which should be easy to diagnose and solve.
Until the software and operating system manufacturers decide to address this need, computer users must learn to solve common computer problems which do not need an expert to solve.
To achieve this goal, you first need to know the common causes of these computer errors, and then learn to deal with them.
Causes of common computer errors
- Malware programs, such as viruses, Trojan horses, worms, spyware and adware.
- Outdated products that may open up your PC to security threats built around the bugs patched up in software updates, and also cause errors due to incorrect and outdated file version.
- PC slowdown problems caused by unnecessary processes, such as qttask.exe and osa.exe running in the background.
- Spoolsv.exe and other errors that are caused due to large amount of temporary files on the hard disk.
- A bloated and unstable registry may not only generate PC errors, but also cause system slow down issues.
How to combat each issue listed above
- To fight malware infections, you need to use efficient antivirus and antispyware tools. To ensure that these tools are effective, you must update the program’s definitions, which are released almost daily by the tool’s manufacturers. Also, you must schedule periodic — daily, if possible quick scans and full system scans weekly or monthly to ensure that your PC stays free from any type of infection.
- If your PC does get infected by stubborn malware, then Malwarebytes is a good tool that you can use to remove it. For Desktop hijacks use SmitfraudFix.
- To update your Microsoft products, always keep the Windows Automatic Update feature enabled. Many third-party software programs today come with built-in update options. You must use these options to update your software on regular basis. To automatically scan and update your drivers periodically, you may use a reliable driver scanner tool.
- Most of the unnecessary processes run at system startup. To disable these processes from running, you may use the Windows System Configuration Utility or a reliable third-party startup program manager tool.
- To get rid of temporary and other unwanted files from your hard disk easily, you may use the Disk Cleanup tool that comes with Windows. Also, to further optimize your hard disk, defrag it by using the Disk Defragmenter tool.
- In the end, to maintain a healthy and compact registry, you need to clean and defrag it on regular basis. The easiest and the most efficient way to do this is to use a reliable registry tool.
