Windows Protection Suite Removal

Windows Protection Suite masquerades as a PC Security program, but that is something it is not. It's a ROGUE and for those of you who are infected with it you will know it.

This nasty piece of work can uninstall security programs, it also redirects searches to further malware sites in a bid to force users into paying for this garbage to "clean" the infected computer.

This insidious program IS the problem!

If you are infected, in most cases you will be blocked from installing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware which can remove this parasite.

Open Task Manager - Ctrl+Alt+del - and end the process. It may be running as 'Windowsprotectionsuite.exe' or a random set of letters and numbers such as 'WI7b37.exe', simply right click and select 'End Process' then click 'Yes'.

If you cannot open Task Manager, reboot into Safe Mode with Networking and follow the same steps.

Open 'My Computer' and open the 'C:' drive, double click the 'Windows' folder > double click the 'System32' > double click the 'drivers' folder then the 'etc' folder. Click on ALL of the Hosts files in the folder and DELETE them, do NOT delete the lmhosts, protocol, services, networks or any other files that may be there, ONLY those named 'hosts'.

Close the window and open your browser. Type mbam into the search and go to malwarebytes.org, click on Download free version and you will be redirected to the download page at download.com Simply click to download Malwarebytes, install and it will automatically search for updates and install them after which the user interface will open.

It is preselected to perform a Quick Scan so simply click the Scan button and allow the program to run. remove ALL infection found and click Yes which will reboot your computer and finalize the removal process.

You will need to reinstall any security applications that this rogue program removed and also update your Hosts. Free programs are listed below to assist you.
