WinPatrol is a much underused and under-estimated pc security program that you really don’t want to be without and the new PLUS version is super optimized by 30%.

It takes a snapshot of users critical system resources and alerts users to any changes that may occur without their knowledge which allows them to stop the process.

WinPatrol 2010 has taken a leap forward and has no crapware, toolbars or nag screens and has added support for Firefox and Chrome browsers as well as 64Bit systems.

WinPatrol alerts users to hijackings, malware attacks and critical changes made to their computer without the users permission and replaces multiple system utilities with its enhanced functionality.

Traditional security programs scan your hard drive searching for previously identified threats, whereas WinPatrol uses a hueristic behaviour approach to identify these threats.

Malware that is downloaded frequently makes changes to the Registry and adds Startup items. With this small but powerful program, users can block these changes and remove unwanted items easily.

It’s very light on resources and will warn users with a popup to any new changes being made that users may not be aware of, this typically happens with ‘driveby’ downloads or the installation of rogue programs.

When rogue programs are being installed users can BLOCK the newly created Registry keys and Startups as well as monitor the HOSTS File.
