Happy New Year Everyone

Just over one year ago, in late December, I made the decision to move Free PC Security from WordPress.com to its own domain.
I started writing in March 2007 and gradually the number of visitors started to increase to what was a very small site in a very large internet.
I had not given much thought to a specific direction apart from providing free computer security information for all users and trying to educate users in safety.
Moving to my own domain was a major move and also a risky one, as you risk losing credibility and visitors, so there was a great deal of work to be done, so from Christmas Day 2008 I spent a week transferring Free PC Security to its current domain and this site went 'live' on January 1, 2009.
There were a few hundred posts to go through and change all of the links and ensure that they all worked, so it was time consuming and something that required focus.
In the early stages of the transfer my views and visitors dropped to around 150 per day......but it was a risk I was prepared to take and as time progressed the visitor numbers increased and 12 months later I average 1000+ views per day, which is quite pleasing for a small cog in a big machine.
It's been a long year, but I had found my niche - helping others to secure their computers and remove malware and other unwanted junk from them as well as the List of Malicious Sites and Rogue Programs on which I changed the format for easier navigation.
Not only do I import malware and find removal methods, I test many programs that are in beta and also make video tutorials to give others a better understanding of how to use various programs.
There are many of you who I have helped on a 1-to-1 basis in reply to an email request for help, or providing further information from comments that are left here on the site and youtube comments that require further information.
My thanks go to my readers and subscribers, YouTube subscribers, members of Yahoo Group Free PC Security, the Web of Trust team and WOT Forum members who provide a valuable service to all users, specifically Athlonite, BobJam, Cod Head, Creastery, difrawi_defrawy, Evilfantasy, FlyAqua, Frank J, g7w, LiVeRpUdLiAn932, MysteryFCM, phantazm, shazza, soran, YoKenny plus many more and to Rick of What's On My PC who publishes an amazing list of 'Geek Squeaks' which you really should visit and click the links, there is something for everyone.
Special thanks to those who have made donations to help with the maintenance costs associated with this site. This site is not sponsored by any group and does not carry sponsored advertising.
Through 2010 I hope to continue to bring you more relevant information and problem solving as well as new and updated programs and more rogue programs and sites to avoid.
I download the same junk that many of you download, so the programs used have to work. Firstly they are installed on a test machine and when I am satisfied that the removal method works I install many on a normal, everyday computer.
